MR Burros
About This Spot
Stepping into MR Burros feels a little like discovering a tucked-away treasure in the heart of Yuma. It’s an unassuming spot where the hum of familiar chatter mingles with the comforting aroma of sizzling carne asada and fresh masa tortillas—inviting you to slow down, breathe, and take in the genuine warmth behind the counter.
The pace here is easygoing, a welcome pause whether you’re stopping by early for a breakfast burrito before work or settling in for a midday meal. The space is intimate and cozy, reflecting its roots as a cherished local eatery rather than a polished chain. This simplicity is part of its charm; it’s a place where the focus remains on the food and the people who make it, where there’s always a friendly face ready to share a recommendation or nod knowingly about the best salsa pairing for your meal.
What makes MR Burros special isn’t just the generous portions or the affordable prices, but the sense that each dish carries a story—a homemade quality that comes through in every bite. Whether it’s the rich, slow-cooked flavors of the machaca and eggs or the hearty, spice-kissed layers wrapped inside a Calizona burrito, the offerings reveal an authentic embrace of Sonoran traditions. The menu feels like an invitation to explore, with just enough variety to satisfy early risers craving huevos rancheros or those in search of a midday burst of flavor from classic carne asada fries.
The atmosphere lends itself to quick pick-ups and casual sit-downs alike, though most guests seem to favor carrying out their orders—perhaps a comforting daily ritual or a satisfying stop on a busy morning route. Despite its modest size and limited parking, the regular stream of visitors reflects a steady appreciation for the genuine care that goes into each plate.
Beyond the food, MR Burros holds a more understated joy—the kind found in small moments shared between family-run teams and their community. It’s not just a place to eat, but a spot where locals find a taste of home, and visitors catch a glimpse of the heart beating softly beneath the surface of Yuma’s vibrant food scene.

Mr. Burros in Yuma never disappoints! The food is always 100%, packed burritos that are full of flavor and that authentic taste you can’t beat. Their menudo is delicious, even on a warm day! I love that they give you a choice of salsas whether you’re picking up or dining in. Parking can be a little tight, but it’s absolutely worth it for the food and quality service. Definitely one of my go to spots in Yuma.

Don't be fool by the size of the spot. The real reason you should visit is what happens behind the red door. Once the food came out it's worth the stop. Had the flautas (rolled tacos). Should of taken a photo but the hunger was there. Reminiscing of homemade meals.

This is my first time visiting Mr Burros. The staff is very friendly and explained me all the different types of breakfast burritos. I ended up buying the Breakfast Special, it was god. You get the chance to try 3 different salsas that come with it. The place has a very small dining area and I noticed most people taking their orders to go or had called in their takeout orders. Parking area is small too, but I was lucky to find a space. Every looked cleaned inside and organized. I definitely recommend Mr Burros if you’re in Yuma area, you can give them a chance to try their offerings.

We placed a take out order based on a recommendation and man they DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! I got the Chile Relleno (added carne asada). It was delicious and filling! They have custom sauces you can use to turn up the spice if you want. I ate mine as it was made. The portions are worth every cent! And for people with braces, it won’t mess up your brackets (but keep your flossers handy). The place doesn’t have many tables or sit down space so I suggest ordering to go. Definitely recommend!!!

Best huevos rancheros I’ve ever had. Hosts are super kind and genuine as well. Will be back every time I’m in Yuma.
